5 Lac Technical Students Will Get Scholarships Each Year: Planning Minister
The Government of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh will offer grants to 5 Lakh understudies every year to use home industry and send gifted specialists to another country.
The present Skills and Training Enhancement Project (STEP) of Tk. 634 crore has been changed at the end of the day to appropriate the grants among Polytechnic Institute and Technical Institute understudies.
Arranging Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said, "The proposition to raise the expense of undertaking to 1782 crore was affirmed at ECNEC meeting on January 05, 2016 (Tuesday). The administration executed the venture to raise the nature of specialized training in Bangladesh."
The changed work paper of the task has said, "The specialized organization in Bangladesh does not take care of the expanding demand for talented labor in the nation and abroad in the focused world circumstance".
Complete expense of the task in 2010 was viewed as Tk. 634 crore. Among them, the World Bank and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) gives Tk. 573 crore.
The aggregate expense of the task in 2013 was raised to Tk. 850 crore. For this present year, Tk. 932 crore has been added to the undertaking. The undertaking period has been expanded to the year 2019.
World Bank has consented to give Tk. 10 crore as the task help among this extra sum. By undertaking proposition, 50 percent of the additional cash will be given to understudies as grants.
57 open private professional, polytechnic foundations and specialized training establishments will be given awards. 5 lakh 23 thousand understudies of these establishments will get grants.
