Private Universities Failing Conditions Will Face Legal Steps: Nahid
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Wednesday said lawful steps will be taken against private university on the off chance that they neglect to conform to the standards and regulations.
He said this while tending to the fifteenth conference of East West University (EWU) in the city. An aggregate of 1311 undergrad and graduate understudies were presented degrees, and three of them won gold awards.
Alluding to errant private colleges in his location, Nahid said, "The legislature has set a one-year time period for those private colleges that have neglected to meet the significant conditions - those which have been completing instructive projects on more than one grounds".
On the off chance that the colleges concerned neglect to work legitimately in accordance with the tenets and regulations, lawful steps will be taken against them after the time span other than halting the confirmation of understudies there, he included.
The Vice-Chancellor of East West University, Dr. MM Shahidul Hassan encouraged the understudies to apply their procured learning for the financial advancement of our blood-showered homeland.
The Minister managed the meeting as a delegate of President Abdul Hamid. The system was likewise gone to by the director of University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor Abdul Mannan and Vice-Chancellor of East West University Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin. 2,197 understudies were given the graduate and post-graduate testaments in the meeting.
